## J&K: Baramulla Deputy Commissioner flags off marathon to beat coronavirus blues ##

In order to relieve Jammu and Kashmir youth of anxiety and depression caused by the outbreak of coronavirus in India, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Baramulla, Dr G.N Itoo flagged off a marathon run from Akbar Chowk to his office in Baramulla.
The marathon was organized by District Youth Services and Sports Baramulla under ‘Fit India Freedom Run’ initiative under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports’ nationwide ‘Run4India’ programme.
The DC himself participated in the marathon besides other stakeholders viz students, volunteers and other officials.
Speaking on the occasion, DC complimented the participants and said that such events help to inculcate positivity and optimism among the youth. He highlighted the importance of fitness and said that only a fit person can contribute towards the wellbeing and development of the society.
He also termed such activities necessary for relieving our youth from negativity and pessimistic thoughts developed due to the present COVID-19 situation.
